What We Fix

RV roof repair and slide-out service - at your site.

Your RV's roof takes a beating in Florida. Between the UV, the rain, and the occasional branch, every seam and penetration is a potential leak waiting to happen. And slide-outs? They're one of the most failure-prone systems on any rig. We handle both at your campsite, driveway, or storage lot across Port St. Lucie, FL and the Treasure Coast. Here's what we fix and what it typically runs.

Roof Leak Repair & Resealing

We find and seal roof leaks around vents, skylights, antennas, and seams. Dicor self-leveling sealant and Eternabond tape are our go-to products. Most leaks come down to dried-out sealant that cracked under Florida's sun. We check every penetration while we're up there, not just the one that's dripping.

$150-500 - 1-3 hours

EPDM / TPO / Rubber Roof Patching

Tears, punctures, and worn spots on rubber roofs are common out here. Florida sun destroys roof membranes faster than anywhere else in the country. We patch EPDM and TPO with manufacturer-spec materials that bond properly and hold up in the heat. Not a duct-tape-and-hope job.

$120-350 - 1-2 hours

Full Roof Recoating

We strip old sealant, clean the entire membrane, and apply a fresh roof coating that extends the life of your roof 5-10 years. This is the big one. Takes most of a day, but it's a fraction of the cost of a full roof replacement. We've done plenty of these on Class A, fifth wheel, and travel trailer rigs across the Treasure Coast.

$400-1,200 - 4-8 hours

Slide-Out Motor Replacement

Lippert, Schwintek, and hydraulic slide motors all fail eventually. We carry common Lippert motors on the truck so you're not waiting days for a part. Dead motor, clicking relay, blown fuse, bad controller - we troubleshoot the whole system, not just swap parts and hope. If your slide-out electrical system needs attention, we handle that too.

$200-500 - 1-3 hours

Slide-Out Seal Replacement

Wiper seals, bulb seals, and rain gutters keep water and drafts out of your rig. Once they compress, crack, or pull away from the wall, you'll notice water stains, air leaks, and bug problems fast. We stock common seal profiles and can replace most slide-out seals in 1-2 hours on-site.

$150-350 - 1-2 hours

Slide-Out Alignment & Adjustment

Slide not closing flush? Gaps on one side? Grinding noise when it moves? That's usually a rail or gear adjustment, not a full motor replacement. We see this a lot on rigs that sat on uneven ground or took a hard bump in transit. A proper adjustment saves you hundreds compared to an unnecessary motor swap.

$120-280 - 1-2 hours

Vent & Skylight Replacement

Cracked MaxxAir covers, broken Fantastic Fan lids, and foggy skylights are all quick swaps. We carry standard 14x14 vent assemblies and common dome replacements. If it's just the crank mechanism or the fan motor, we can usually fix it without replacing the whole unit. Quick job, usually under an hour.

$80-200 - 30-60 min

Roof A/C Mounting & Seal

Rooftop A/C units sit on a gasket that compresses over time. Water starts coming in around the cutout, and if you don't catch it early, the roof decking goes soft. We reseal A/C mounting gaskets, fix soft spots around the cutout, and address water intrusion around rooftop A/C units. Catches a problem that gets expensive fast if ignored.

$100-250 - 45-90 min
Warning Signs

5 signs your RV roof or slide-out needs attention.

01

Water stains on the ceiling after rain

Brown or yellow stains on your headliner or ceiling panels mean water is getting in somewhere up top. The longer you wait, the more the wood substrate absorbs and the bigger the repair bill gets. Don't write it off as condensation.

02

Spongy or soft spots when walking on the roof

If the roof flexes under your feet more than it should, the plywood substrate underneath is absorbing moisture. This means a leak has been active for a while. You'll want to address the source and the damaged decking before the membrane separates.

03

Slide-out makes grinding noise or stops mid-travel

Grinding, clicking, or a slide that stops halfway usually points to a gear issue, low voltage, or a motor that's on its way out. Running it harder won't fix it and can strip the gear pack. Stop and call before a $200 repair turns into an $800 one.

04

Visible cracks or separation in roof sealant

Get on a ladder and look at the sealant around your vents, antennas, and roof seams. If you see cracks, peeling, or gaps, water is getting underneath every time it rains. Florida thunderstorms don't mess around. This is the easiest problem to prevent with regular resealing.

05

Gaps or daylight visible around slide-out seals

Close your slide and check the seal from outside. If you can see daylight, feel a draft, or see gaps where the seal should be pressing tight against the wall, that seal is done. Water, bugs, and heat loss all follow. Replacement is straightforward and worth doing before a storm season.

How It Works

Three steps. Done at your location.

1

Call or Request a Quote

Call 772-276-6465 or submit an estimate request. Tell us what you're seeing - leak, soft spot, slide stuck, grinding noise. We'll schedule a time window, usually same or next day for Port St. Lucie and the surrounding Treasure Coast area.

2

We Inspect On-Site

Our tech arrives with a ladder, sealants, slide-out parts, and diagnostic tools. We get on the roof, check every seam and penetration, or get under the slide mechanism to find the actual problem. You get a written estimate before we touch anything. No guesswork billing.

3

Repaired and Sealed

Most roof repairs and slide-out fixes finish in 1-3 hours. We carry Dicor sealant, Eternabond tape, Lippert slide motors, wiper seals, and replacement vents on the truck. If we've got the part, it's done that day. No ordering, no "come back next week."

Slide-out motor died on our fifth wheel. They found the right Lippert motor, came back next day, and had it working in about 2 hours. No shop visit, no towing. Exactly what we needed.

Roof was chalking and cracking after 8 years in Florida sun. They did a full recoat, took most of the day but the roof looks brand new. Should get another 7-10 years out of it.

FAQ

RV roof and slide-out questions we hear all the time.

How much does RV roof repair cost in Port St. Lucie?

Most RV roof repairs run $150-500 for leak sealing and patching. A full roof recoat costs $400-1,200 depending on the size of the rig and the condition of the existing membrane. Vent and skylight replacements are $80-200. We always write up an estimate before starting, so there are no surprises on the bill.

How often should I reseal my RV roof?

In Florida, you should inspect and touch up roof sealant every 6-12 months. The UV and heat down here break down Dicor and similar sealants faster than up north. A full recoat is typically needed every 5-8 years depending on the membrane type and how much sun the rig sits in. We see a lot of rigs that haven't been checked in 3+ years and the sealant is cracked all the way through.

Can you fix an RV roof leak on-site?

Yes. We fix RV roof leaks on-site every week. We carry Dicor self-leveling sealant, Eternabond tape, and patching materials for EPDM, TPO, and fiberglass roofs on the truck. Most leak repairs take 1-3 hours depending on how many penetrations need attention. You don't need to tow to a shop for a roof leak.

My slide-out is stuck - can you fix it at my location?

In most cases, yes. We troubleshoot Lippert, Schwintek, and hydraulic slide systems on-site. If the motor is dead, we carry common Lippert replacement motors on the truck. If it's a controller, relay, or fuse issue, we diagnose and repair that same visit. The only time we can't finish on-site is if a rare motor or gear pack needs ordering, and even then we typically get it within 1-2 business days.

What causes RV roof leaks?

The most common cause is dried and cracked sealant around vents, skylights, antennas, and roof seams. Florida's UV and heat cycle break sealant down faster than anywhere else in the country. Other causes include punctures from tree branches, failed vent gaskets, and A/C mounting gaskets that have compressed and lost their seal. According to Dicor Products, sealant should be inspected at least twice a year in southern climates.

How long does an RV roof last in Florida?

An EPDM rubber roof typically lasts 12-15 years with proper maintenance, but in Florida's sun that can drop to 8-10 years if you're not resealing regularly. TPO roofs hold up better in UV, around 15-20 years. Fiberglass lasts the longest but can develop crazing and gelcoat failure. The sealant around penetrations is always the weak link, not the membrane itself.

What's the difference between EPDM and TPO roofs?

EPDM is a synthetic rubber membrane, either black or white, flexible, and the most common RV roof material. TPO is a thermoplastic membrane that's usually white and reflects more heat. TPO handles UV better and doesn't chalk as fast, but it's harder to patch if it tears. Both are repairable on-site. We carry patching materials for each type on the truck.

How long does slide-out motor replacement take?

Slide-out motor replacement takes 1-3 hours depending on the system. Lippert electric motors are the fastest, usually around 90 minutes. Schwintek motors take a bit longer because of the strip drive setup. Hydraulic systems can take 2-3 hours if the pump or cylinder needs swapping. We carry common Lippert motors on the truck, so if that's your system, it's typically a same-visit repair.
